What makes you feel free?

I'm trying to put it into words... I was gonna say nature, running, meditating, writing, playing with my kiddo, staring into voids, walking/swimming out to a middle of a lake, to the point you can't touch and wading out to the point you feel scared, yet free. Given all that, I'll say it's a Flow state. When I find Flow, I'm free...

Long walks at night in the city (any city), knowing there are thousands of people near you, but you're the only one out. Road trips. Skiing fast. Long views.

Before the pandemic: having my own flat and being independent that way. Now due to moving back home until I graduate I feel free on my walks in nature. But also whenever we get to rent a car and take a walk somewhere else.

When I'm at the beach or looking at mountains, basically when I'm surrounded by nature because at that time I don't think of anything else like work or deadlines or anything that gives me stress or tension

I love riding my bike. I don't feel free when I am coasting down a hill, but I feel free when I am in the right gear, at the right cadence, going up an incline and my effort is enhanced by the gears of the bike. I'm not worrying about anything except for turning my legs and breathing.

humidity, not having plans, not having to get up early, not being in my small town, being on a summer beach, watching TV with my best pals, rain, vacation, the NBA <3

PS My relationship with the natural world has become so much more passionate, that all of a sudden birds and squirrels are coming up to me. LOL

It was a slap on the forehead when DECADES ago when Terry Cole Whitaker or someone said, "remember: we choose what to think and we choose how to feel." Now I am aware that some people have medical situations where that perhaps is not an option, but as quirky as my mind is, I do have that blessing to be able to choose a different feeling. Why wouldn't I shift my thoughts and thereby shift the chemicals I have just produced in my body? (I could NEVER have survived living in NYC. I had 2 nice visits for 4 days and it was great and ENOUGH )
