India clearly needs help - the stories emerging from there are genuinely gut wrenching. I am in search of more trustworthy institutions to donate to, I was looking for the list you mentioned but did not find it. Also, I would encourage you to not politicize the crisis. The government of India has clearly fallen short and so have state governments, independent agencies like the election commission, the private sector, and the people themselves who seem to have thrown caution to the wind in the days leading to the second wave. But in order for the criticism to be credible, it needs to come from credible sources. Rana Ayyub has no credibility - she has been anti Modi, anti Amit Shah for a long time. She tried to write a book called "Gujrat Files" on supposed excesses in dealing with riots there in 2002. The book was so poorly written and sourced, that it could go past the editorial filter of a tabloid, Tehelka, Rana worked at the time. No other publishing house would publish the book either. And remember, Modi was not a nationally powerful figure at the time. Even the BJP, the party he now leads, lost elections in 2004, and the opponents of BJP and Modi were ascendant. Even in such politically favorable environment, no publishing house would touch this book. You are doing good work. I enjoy reading your blog and book recommendations. Please don't sully the work but giving a platform to tabloid trash like Rana Ayyub.
